Gracilarias de Panama S.A. is a pioneer in the eco-sustainable cultivation and export of marine algae of the genuses Gracilaria, Eucheuma and Kappaphycus alvarezii in the Republic of Panama. Its plantations are located in the province of Colon.
Thanks to its crops in the sea, in pools and in vitro, the company supplies a product that is attractive to industry and provides opportunities for the sustainable development of the Guna and Afro-Caribbean communities in the area.
Gracilarias de Panama works alongside important international organizations in its R&D activities. These include the former GKSS Institute for Coastal Research in Germany, the University of Panama and the University of California, Irvine.
The company has exported algae to Europe and Asia.
